Prehnite is an interesting mineral with many unique formations. It is a silicate of calcium and aluminum, often found in the veins and cavities of basaltic rocks. Prehnite's crystal structure can form in various habits, including globular, reniform, or stalactitic, and it is known for its vitreous to pearly luster. Its color palette ranges from colorless to gray, yellow, yellow-green, and even rare orange hues.

Discovered in the 18th century, prehnite is named after Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn.
