Description
Beautifully formed zircon crystal, with minor fluorescent apatite inclusions, on biotite and carbonatite matrix.
The apatite fluoresces yellow/orange with 254nm short wave UV light. The carbonatite fluoresces pink under 254nm short wave UV. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen only fluoresces with 254nm, short wave ultraviolet light. A filtered, high-quality lamp is ESSENTIAL.
Most multi-function, inexpensive UV lights, that claim to be short wave, are in fact either non-filtered, or not the correct wavelength.
