Description
This titanite displays a distinctive flattened, disc-like crystal habit, a form that is far less common than the typical wedge or bladed crystals seen for the species. The crystal shows a soft yellow to yellow-green coloration, with a semi-translucent body and bright, reflective crystal faces that catch the light beautifully. Subtle growth zoning and natural surface textures are visible, adding depth and character to the piece. Minor matrix remnants remain along the crystal edges, emphasizing its natural, unaltered condition.
Titanite from Tormiq Valley is prized for both its unusual morphology and classic Himalayan provenance, and disc-shaped examples like this are especially desirable for advanced mineral collections. The crystal has strong visual presence despite its compact form, making it an excellent cabinet or thumbnail display specimen
