Description
Beautiful blue Cavansite / pentagonite radiating crystal cluster on a bed of tiny stilbite crystals that are atop basalt matrix. Also present is calcite that has a bright white color as well as green phosphorescence under 365nm long wave ultraviolet light.
A cluster featuring both Cavansite and Pentagonite is a highly desirable and relatively uncommon association, most famously from the Deccan Traps region of India.
Cavansite typically forms vivid electric-blue spherical rosettes or “pom-poms,” while pentagonite—its rarer dimorph—crystallizes in sharper, radiating prismatic sprays. When they occur together, the contrast is striking: soft, velvety cavansite balls paired with more defined, starburst-like pentagonite crystals, often perched on a contrasting matrix of white stilbite or gray basalt.
