Description

These beautiful polished pieces come from the Jambi/Sarolangun region of Sumatra, one of the world’s most famous sources of richly patterned fossil amber. The striking contrast between deep coffee-brown areas and lighter caramel-to-cream swirls is completely natural and formed millions of years ago.

The lighter areas are naturally occurring fossilized tree resin that underwent unique changes in the tropical soils of Sumatra. Over time, internal zones of the resin became lighter and more opaque as they interacted with clay-rich groundwaters, creating the gorgeous marbled “tiger stripe” patterns seen here.

Each piece is 100% natural fossil amber — not treated, not dyed, and not artificial resin.

The patterns are unique to Sumatra and highly sought after by collectors, healers, and jewelry makers.

These polished nuggets display vibrant color, intricate internal structures, and excellent hand feel. A distinctive addition to any specimen or lapidary collection.

The amber displays blue fluorescence with 365nm long wave ultraviolet light.

You will receive ONE (1) amber tumble from the pieces in the photos.

The variation in each stone is unique, if you have a preference of degree of patterning, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Size: average 2.5 to 3 cm each (but may vary)
