Description

Bright native copper-blades form a striking angular network across turquoise-blue chrysocolla in this beautiful Indonesian specimen. The copper blades intersect at various angles, creating a geometric, almost script-like pattern. Smaller copper patches scattered between the larger blades add fine detail.

Deep open cavities in the colorful polished face reveal pale blue interiors and give the specimen pronounced depth. A gray volcanic matrix frames the mineralized area, while the rough reverse retains additional blue mineralization.

Native copper provides the characteristic metallic highlights. The surrounding blue material is consistent with chrysocolla-bearing silica, potentially including chalcedony and common opal. Dark borders and occasional lavender-gray metallic-looking areas accompany portions of the copper network; these accessory constituents remain unidentified.

The volcanic host is interpreted as altered/welded  tuff.
