Description
This is a gorgeous piece of crystal clear, honey yellow fluorite from the famous Moscona Mine, El Pontón de Solís, Corvera de Asturias, Asturias, Spain.
These honey yellow cubic crystals are very bright and transparent and display a spectacular, inter-grown cubic habit, measuring up to 1 cm on edge. This is typical of the fluorite found in this area. This piece has a few clusters of small, white rhombohedral dolomite crystals.
Under long wave UV light, the piece fluoresces yellow from below the base of the crystals with a light purple fluorescence illuminating the outer portions of the crystals. Under short wave UV, the piece displays a translucent yellow fluorescence with a slight green tint.The piece is phosphorescence under both long-wave and short-wave UV light.
