Description
Honey yellow cubic fluorite crystal cluster from the famous Moscona Mine in Spain
This is a gorgeous piece of crystal clear, honey yellow fluorite from the famous Moscona Mine, El Pontón de Solís, Corvera de Asturias, Asturias, Spain. These honey yellow cubic crystals are very bright and transparent and display a spectacular, intergrown cubic habit, measuring up to 1 cm on edge. This is typical of the fluorite found in this area. A few bladed calcite(?) crystals are found on the attachment surface of the piece.
Under long wave UV light, the piece fluoresces yellow from below the base of the crystals with a light purple fluorescence illuminating the outer portions of the crystals. Under short wave UV, the piece displays a translucent pistachio green/yellow fluorescence. The piece is phosphorescence under both long wave and short wave UV light.
82X50x35 mm and 132 grams.
A classic piece from this famous fluorite locality.
