Description
Natural blue Sumatran amber that has been polished on one side and left raw on the reverse side.
Size: 63 x 40 x 15 mm. 18 grams.
Origin: Jambi / Sarolangun Region, Sumatra
Geologic Age: Miocene (~20–30 million years)
Material: Natural fossilized tree resin (amber)
These beautiful brown / blue amber specimens come from the rich amber-producing region of Sumatra. Their deep, warm mahogany-to-coffee coloration is completely natural, formed as ancient tree resin fossilized over millions of years. When held to the light, many stones show a soft inner glow with subtle swirls, natural veils, or fine internal textures.
Unlike treated or artificial resin products, these stones are 100% natural fossil amber, shaped and polished without dyes, heat treatment, or enhancements. They have a smooth, silky feel in the hand and a clean, glassy polish that highlights their natural color.
This uniform brown variety is sometimes referred to in the trade as “Coffee Amber” for its rich, earthy tone but when in certain lighting conditions, a blue sheen is apparent on the surface.
These pieces fluoresce with a stunning electric blue-cobalt blue glow under 365nm long wave UV. When the fluorescence is viewed from the side, however, the center of the piece retains its warm gold to orange-red color.
Perfect for:
• collectors of natural organics
• wire-wrappers and jewelers
• pocket stones / worry stones
• gift sets and display bowls
• metaphysical uses involving warmth, grounding, and ancestral energy
Each piece is unique, naturally formed, and hand-polished.
These stones are from the Bukit Barisan Range, West Sumatra, Indonesia
