Description

Fluorescent sodalite in syenite aka Yooper Stone or yooperlite. This specimen has been naturally rounded during transport to the US by glaciers from the Coldwell Alkaline Complex in Ontario Canada and further tumbled on the shores of Lake Superior. 

The sodalite fluoresces bright orange with 365nm long wave ultraviolet light, and this piece reacts to 254nm short wave UV (good quality lamps with filter) with a deep red glow.
