Description
Fluorescent sodalite in syenite aka Yooper Stone or yooperlite. This specimen has been naturally rounded during transport to the US by glaciers from the Coldwell Alkaline Complex in Ontario Canada and further tumbled on the shores of Lake Superior. .
The sodalite fluoresces bright orange with 365nm long wave ultraviolet light.
This piece also displays a deep red under 254nm short wave ultraviolet light. Please note that a good quality filtered short wave lamp is essential for best results.
