Fluorescent hydrozincite with calcite from Long Lake Zinc Mine, Parham, Olden Township, Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada.
THIS SPECIMEN IS BEST WITH 254nm SHORT WAVE ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT. You will be able to see some fluorescence with 365nm long wave UV but not as much as the short wave.
The hydrozincite fluoresces a sky blue and calcite a dull orange with short wave UV. With long wave UV the calcite is bright and the hydrozincite is less blue and more yellow.
