Description
This is a stunning bright green elbaite tourmaline crystal from the famous gem-bearing pegmatites at Korgal, Laghman, Afghanistan. This location is famous for its extraordinary, absolutely transparent green tourmaline which is sought after by gem hunters.
The bottom of the crystal has several fractures lining up with striations on the matrix rock, suggesting that the crystal was fractured during collection. This portion of the crystal may be repaired at the mine or the mineral bazar in Peshawar. As you can see from the photos, it does not diminish the beauty of this crystal and the piece.
