Description
A cabinet-size specimen featuring a prominent golden yellow-green titanite (sphene) crystal on a richly textured matrix from the Shigar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
The main titanite crystal measures approximately 2 cm and displays a classic wedge-shaped habit, bright vitreous luster, and excellent translucency. Under direct lighting, the crystal takes on a vivid golden-yellow glow with attractive olive-green tones, with dark internal markings and inclusions.
The matrix consists of abundant bladed cleavelandite coated with dark gray-green clinochlore, all developed over a more massive feldspar matrix. The clinochlore coating emphasizes the bladed crystal forms and creates excellent contrast with the bright titanite.
