Botryoidal fluorite on quartz is exceptionally rare, and can only be found in Mahodari, India. Nearly all botryoidal fluorite on quartz specimens from India are partially processed to optimize the shape. Acid is often used to remove less aesthetic layers of calcite coating the fluorite, in addition to some careful sculpting around imperfect edges. The mineral combination is natural, but the aesthetics of the piece have been slightly altered to improve the natural egg shape
