Description

An interesting specimen featuring botryoidal chalcedony that formed in a volcanic vesicle within basalt. The chalcedony dome and column reflect growth within the vesicle cavity. The surface is smooth and lustrous. 

Bottom and side surfaces are cut and ground using the traditional techniques of the basalt miners in the Deccan Trap region.
