From Igdir Province, Turkey
Halite, commonly known as rock salt, is usually colorless or white, but in rare cases can occur in vivid hues such as pink, purple, or blue. Blue halite from Iğdır Province is particularly valued for its unusual color, caused by structural features within the mineral. Specimens from this region are relatively uncommon and are sought after for both their rarity and striking appearance. This piece is an excellent example of the distinctive halite from this locality.
