You will receive ONE (1) specimen with one red-brown almandine garnet in lustrous gray mica schist from Garnet Ledge in Wrangell, Alaska. 

Garnet Ledge is the famous and historic home of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Corporation, the first woman-owned mining corporation in the United States. Founded by Anna E Durkee (a teacher from west-central New York) and several other women in about 1905. Up to 28 women were involved in the financing and operation of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Corporation. 

Size: approximately 5 mm garnet, 15 to 30 mm entire specimen. 4 to 14 grams each. Photos are indicative of the range of specimens. We will select a beautiful piece for you! 

Locale: Garnet Ledge, Wrangell, Alaska near the mouth of the Stikine River.
