Description
A beautifully balanced plate of botryoidal chalcedony featuring two prominent domes rising from a smooth, flowing multi-domed chalcedony surface. The piece exhibits a perfect glossy natural luster and subtle translucence typical of agatized silica from the Deccan volcanic province.
The contrast between the larger hemispherical domes and the surrounding botryoidal texture gives this specimen strong visual appeal from multiple angles. Very good condition. Minor natural texture variation in lower areas. Bottom surface is cut and ground using the traditional techniques of the basalt miners in the Deccan Trap region. Deccan Trap botryoidal pieces of this quality are not common and highly desirable among chalcedony collectors.
