Description
A distinctive specimen of botryoidal chalcedony exhibiting layered silica growth and partial agatization. Rounded chalcedony domes are overlain by a smooth, translucent secondary chalcedony layer, creating a soft, frosted visual effect while preserving the underlying botryoidal structure.
The contrast between darker, more lustrous chalcedony and the lighter overgrowth reflects stages of silica deposition within a volcanic cavity. The result is a piece with both depth and complexity, offering a unique variation on classic botryoidal chalcedony.
Bottom surface is cut and ground using the traditional techniques of the basalt miners in the Deccan Trap region.
Key Features:
· Botryoidal chalcedony with partial agatization
· Smooth secondary chalcedony overgrowth (not etched)

· Subtle translucence and internal depth
Dimensions:
80 x 60 x 254mm 164g
